1. Farm Toy Show January
Dozens of vendors and hundreds of farm toy enthusiasts gather each year
at the Saline County Fair Grounds. Marshall, MO

2. Cinco de Mayo Festival - May 5, 2008
On the square in Marshall, a cultural fiesta celebrating Mexico’s “1862 Battle of Puebla”.

3. Shrine Parade - May 10, 2008
150 Entries and Shriners at their best with mini-cycles and costumes!

4. May Festival - Second Saturday in May
Antiques, entertainment, crafts, food and much more set up on sidewalks,
lawns and streets. On Main Street, Blackwater, MO

5. Spring Fling on the Square - Third Saturday in May
On the Square in Downtown Marshall - Local nurseries, florists, plantgrowers
and businesses that deal with lawn care & lawn ornaments/decorations show
and sell their products. The Saline County Master Gardeners give hands-on

6. Water Garden Tour - Last Sunday in June
See how water gardens add life and beauty to landscapes.
Demonstration: building water gardens, home-made filtering systems,
concrete garden art.
$5 per person, 14 and under FREE. Saline County Water Garden Club.

7. Bear Creek Blues Festival - June 28, 2008
Annual blues festival featuring five music performers & bands, food and beverage,
concessions, great music and fun! The little town with the BIG sound.
Event Cost: Adult advance $15, Gate $20. 5-12 $6, 4 & under FREE.

8. Annual Independence Day Fireworks - Prior to 4th of July
Marshall Habilitation Center Gigantic display at dusk, preceded by a

9. Saline County Fair - Mid-July
County Fair featuring 4-H and FFA exhibitions and livestock demonstrations.
Spectator events include demolition derby, talent show, truck jump,

10. Santa Fe Trail Days - Second Weekend in September
On the Square in Downtown Marshall - Annual Festival includes
Craft Show/Flea Market, food vendors, Chuckwagon Dinner,
parade, Gospel Sing, Horseshoe Tournament.

11. Pennytown Reunion First Sunday in August
Descendants and friends unite annually to learn about the
history of Penny-town Community, to share a meal and participate
in a prayer service. County Road 205, Marshall, MO.

14. Butterfield Youth Services (BYS) Harvest Festival & Quilt Auction - September 20, 2008
BBQ ham lunch, quilt and quilted items auction 1 PM. Tours of BYS available. Pumpkin patch,
applebutter-making demonstration. Fun for the whole family.

15. Missouri State Cornhusking - September/October
Heritage art of husking corn by hand - based on time and volume weight of corn husked.
Horse drawn wagons partner with participants of various ages for this unique sporting
competition. Flea/Craft Market, pie contest, parade, & petting zoo add to the excitement.

16. Country Patchwork Quilt Show - September/October
Salt Fork YMCA, 740 East Yerby, Marshall. Each year the quilt show offers
new displays while keeping traditional events: Quilt drawing, silent auction,
over 100 quilts. Also included: Gift Bazaar and woodcarving display.

17. Arrow Rock Heritage Festival - Second Weekend in October
Featuring 19th century crafts of daily living demonstrated throughout the village.
Performances by band and dancers. 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

19. Houston E. Mull FFA Memorial Scholarship Cattle Drive - First Weekend in November
Enjoy an old fashioned cattle drive. Breakfast starting off, picnic style lunch and
steak dinner first evening with a campfire and other entertainment.
All proceeds go towards FFA Scholarships. All ages welcome.
Approximately 10 miles long. Campers and trailers welcome.
Event cost: $25 per person or $100 per family.

20. Christmas Lights Display - Thanksgiving to New Years Day
